This study investigated the mathematical discourse among members of four different professional learning communities (PLCs) of secondary mathematics and science teachers. In this session we will focus on PLC facilitators' roles in promoting meaningful mathematical discourse among the learning community's participants. We define "meaningful mathematical discourse" to be substantive conversations about understanding, learning, and teaching mathematics.
