5. Conclusions
The professional development Teacher Leaders received through NCOSP increased their science content knowledge and understanding of effective science teaching and learning. As hypothesized, students in science classrooms with NCOSP TLs had a greater understanding of science content, as measured by the science WASL. The benefit of having a TL is even more pronounced for students who have spent more time in TLs' classrooms and for students from typically disadvantaged groups.
