Educators make more effective instructional decisions when they (1) are knowledgeable about research on how students develop understanding of specific mathematics content and where they encounter difficulties, (2) access tools and strategies that allow them to systematically monitor their students' understanding prior to and during instruction, making modifications based on evidence in student work and knowledge of math education research and (3) receive professional development that supports their classroom application of this formative assessment system.

Student achievement increases in each content area where OGAP is implemented.

The achievement gap decreases when OGAP is implemented.
